Violence Against Women 03/13/2008
As I "blurted" yesterday, I spent the day at the Ending Violence Against Women policy summit in Los Angeles. I was honored to be a facilitator for one of the workshop sessions--"Effecting Positive Change From Lifespan Perspectives." The workshop focused on identifying gaps in service for female victims of violence in marginalized or underserved sectors of the greater community: LGBTQ women, girls, elderly women, disabled women and immigrant women. I hear the joy and interest in your spoken and written voice over this thing you did. You really like helping people by helping them process and think, and I think you bring some native talents to this process. One of the definitions of the Buckingham Strengthsfinder material concerning a strength is that you are somewhat nervous in front of the activity, then you get into it and you are powered up by it. Sounds like what you did with this group. Laura Sat, 15 Mar 2008 18:58:54 Interesting about the Strengthsfinder material. It's definitely how I am before a big event. Leave a Reply |
