Apropos of nothing, I point out that 2-22-22 will be a fun day to get married (for all you kids out there around 2 or 3 years old now).

Ah yes, I was supposed to be asking the Sunday Question.  This morning, I was listening to John Mellencamp sing "Your Life is Now."  There's scrap of lyric in the song that says, "We could shake the world, if you would only show us how.  Your life is now."

Then, on my teabag, the notice that "Your choices will change the world."

Which leads to the Sunday question:  How would you change the world?

I am changing the world (or at least I hope I am) a little bit at a time. I've been a volunteer math teacher for 7-years now and the only reason I do it is to make this world a little better place. My goal is to leave behind (after I'm long gone) a little bit more than I took. IMHO, there's nothing more important than educating our children. Since I have no children of my own, I volunteer to help the countless children that really need the help. If in the end this has no impact on the world, then I have failed. But, I do it for the world, not for me. Unlike the world of business, I think the biggest impact one can have on the world (the one that orbits the sun) does not come with giant projects, but instead with baby steps.

My mission is to help people be less fearful. If I do nothing else on this planet I will count my life well spent.

And Hal - you rock. Totally.

Hal,

You remind me of the great Ghandi quote: Be the change you wish to see in the world.

I am sure you have impacted countless children, who will go on to pay it forward and impact countless others. Bless you for your efforts in this regard.

Erik,

You've certainly helped this person be less fearful over the past, I dunno, 10 years or so.

And, as with my message to Hal...I think there's a ripple effect. For every person who is liberated from their fear will go out and help others free themselves from their boxes and their contingencies.

Rock on!
